Spartans/Athenians Reflection

Athens had a government were people were equal. The problems were taken care of, and if needed the people were go and fight. In Spartans there were rulers and judges, and not everyone could vote. Also there were slaves in Sparta. Athens made their kids, from wealthy families, go to school at age of 6-7 to learn read, write, poetry, arithmetic, music, and athletic activities. The were going to schools and learning this to have a logic and smart public when they would grow up. In Sparta’s at age 7 boys were sent to militaries, so the Sparta would have a strong government, they would learn to read only to get by, and then at the age of 20 male entered the military to the age of 60.  Athens women had freedom, they were expected to be good wives and mothers, and because of them the society was held better together and the families were strong. Some of the women’s were even religious priestess in temples.  They did not go to school, but they were teacher at homes from their mothers. In Sparta families were less important, and the women were expected to be tough and be really strong, they did not have education. Women had freedom more then man, and they were allowed to own property, and if their husband was on war, they could watch over his.
